The 20th century went down in history as an exciting century in which various ideologies clashed and, in turn, became the dominant paradigm. In the aftermath of the First and Second World Wars, the three basic ideologies that the world faced reduced their place to one. Now, the citizens of the world, who are experiencing the absence of a new ideology, are moving towards a decentralized ideology.
Fascism, Communism and Liberalism have emerged as the dominant ideologies of the past century. Fascism was replaced by Communism and Liberalism, followed by Communism, and finally to Liberalism. Neo-Liberalism, on the other hand, came to the fore as the idea of the continuation of liberalism’s philosophical, structural thought that entered our lives with the 90s.
Neoliberalism has become the dominant paradigm in almost every field, from education to health, from culture to technology. Trade was driven by a neoliberal ideology. In almost all departments in universities, neoliberal teachings were mainstream. Although there have been occasional oppositions, Neoliberalism has remained mainstream, with critics from within itself, as no new alternative has been found to replace it.
These criticisms were no longer made by people of different ideologies, but by people from within this mainstream themselves. The globalization required by neoliberalism has confronted us with relative poverty that has suddenly reached an extreme level. The decisions of the central authorities puted individuals on the back burner in order to save the state and institutions.
Now we see that there is no dominant paradigm. Critics criticize from within, not with a new ideology. There is no alternative. Central authorities have been the focus of criticism as they continue to implement neoliberal policies. At this moment, the need to shape the future with a new mindset manifests itself with decentralization.
Decentralization brings individuals, not the state and institutions, to the forefront. The process works with consensus mechanisms that are engraved in the codes without any ideology. The potential of blockchain technology is tearing down our ideological mindset and creating a new world that is fully decentralized.
Decentralization immediately very excited some segments. However, this is not the right time to keep the feet off the ground yet. While decentralization is very exciting at first,, it became a medium that was too open to manipulation as predicted by behavioral finance. So much so that wherever there are people, manipulations reveal new ways.
In the world of the future, worlds of decentralization, artificial intelligence, quantum mechanics and the metaverse await us. All this is developing by supporting each other and making the future even closer. In addition, everything comes across as an accumulation of the recent past. Much more radical changes in a much faster world should not surprising.
To sum up; The 20th century was a long century in which different ideologies took place and gave direction. The 21st century has come a long way in its first quarter than in the past century. Behind all these developments that is developing a new system that the world is not yet accustomed to and that breaks the roofs of thought. When we ask ourselves what to do now as ideological, the concept of decentralization comes to the rescue us.
Nevertheless, let’s not let this exciting ideology lead us to a blunder. We are still at the beginning of the road, But the future is not as distant as it was in the past.
